Video Game-Based Hand Therapy Improves Motor Functions in Stroke Rehabilitation5
A randomised trial evaluated the impact of video game-based hand therapy on motor functions during stroke rehabilitation. Both intervention and control groups exhibited significant intragroup improvements across upper extremity motor assessments, functional task evaluations, manual dexterity tests, and dexterity index measurements. Intergroup analysis revealed that combining video game training with conventional therapy yielded superior outcomes in upper extremity motor scores, functional task performance, and kitchen activity sub-scores compared to standard therapy alone. Integrating video game hand exercise protocols enhances functional skill recovery in stroke patients.
