Coenzyme Q10 Administration Significantly Reduces Systolic Blood Pressure1
A meta-analysis of 45 randomised controlled trials evaluated the efficacy of coenzyme Q10 administration on cardiovascular parameters in adults. The statistical synthesis demonstrated a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure, whereas changes in diastolic blood pressure and heart rate remained non-significant. Subgroup analyses showed greater systolic blood pressure reduction with doses under 200 mg daily or treatment durations exceeding 8 weeks. Patients with underlying health conditions also experienced greater therapeutic improvements compared to healthy individuals. Consequently, coenzyme Q10 serves as an effective, safe supportive therapy for managing systolic hypertension.
